Unsolicited data-collection is big money for bad actors. In 2021, a targeted spyware operation gave criminals access to over 50,000 people’s personal phone data in a single attack. What’s more, the majority of data harvesting is done in plain sight. It’s all too easy to give the green light to data-collecting applications without a second thought.
